![]() ![]() ![]() but i run expensive lands, and probably like $500 of fast mana in the deck. and the theme i'm going for, has some support and utility. partly because the general is critical to the deck and costs 5 cmc. there's lots of cute gimmicks, but the deck is super janky. or like utilizing only enchantments that have some sort of auto sac or control-able destruction mechanic. i have a pet deck that's always sorta under construction. i have it built around mazirek and can run undying type combos. ![]() insects don't give a shit about each other. pick a non-synergistic or supported tribe? werewolves for example? try solving that puzzle with money. and can surprise board states with those sorta "all lands become creatures" for a turn, and then overrun/triumph of the horde type plays.īut. (it actually has gotten new toys over the years. i've built this deck with a budget in excess of $3k and as cheap as $400 to try different ideas. but if your goal is to actually build and play the deck. nothing about that deck really works.like i'm sure i could make some lame excuse and run a shitty combo in the deck, and win out of no where and call that optimized. Anthousa setessan Hero is one of my favorite shitty decks. if you want a brick wall to bang your head against, there are generals you can max out, and still be misc janky. How do you want to win? what are the mechanisms you're using to achieve that? you can run dogshit optimized combo decks and still beat out highly optimized decks, if your combo is cut throat enough (i've seen so many shitty 2 card combo "oops i win guys" decks from really trash decks) is force of will optimal if it's not game winning critical to counter something before you have actual mana you can hold up? cEDH people only really see power of spells. The problem you might have is conflating power with optimal. I mean, you can totally run optimized fun decks. ![]()
